IED Clearance Good Practice Guide

OPERATIONAL THREAT SUMMARY

A defensive belt of pressure plate IEDs (PPIEDs) is probably located 100 m from the housing estate in the area between the two steep slopes. These probably consist of 8–10 kg of HME in metal containers directly adjacent to a high metal content pressure plate. Inside the fenced area of the estate there are probably high metal content pressure plate VOIEDs located in the doorways and entrances to the houses. The routes inside the housing estate are probably free from IED contamination.
