staff at the Centre. This project, together with the GICHD’s IMSMA Core specifications project, maintained the infrastructure of software, servers, and licences required for IMSMA Core implementations, IMSMA Global, GIS tools and activities supported and hosted at the GICHD. The architecture maintained includes servers (hosting IMSMA Global and data services) and ESRI licences and software (for current GIS requirements). In 2020, GAMA achieved its first ‘live’ linked country information dashboard with Tajikistan, following the successful development of their IMSMA Core system.
The GICHD has seen a significant increase in interest in, and requests for, its GIS solutions and services. Within mine action, spatial analysis, maps, and mobile data collection for the field have migrated towards GIS platforms and solutions. In response to the increased use of GIS, in 2017 the GICHD began the development of IMSMA Core, moving IMSMA into a geocentric database structure with an ecosystem of geo tools designed to support the demand for geo-visualisation solutions in mine action. IMSMA Core also provides data analysis tools and workflows, global datasets, information dashboards and geo-visualisations of data for
