ADAPTATIONS The GICHD did not conduct any awareness-raising sessions for diplomats in 2020, mainly due to the disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Such training sessions have been moved to 2021, with the Centre working towards developing efficient remote working methodology and practices.

produced by the Maison de la paix Gender and Diversity Hub celebrating the 20th anniversary of UNSCR 1325 on Women, Peace, and Security. The Centre continued to contribute to the International Gender Champions network, based on the fact that the Centre’s director has been a Gender Champion since 2016. In addition, the GICHD conducted a gender and diversity audit, and promoted its first e-learning course, entitled Introduction to Gender and Diversity in Mine Action.

The GICHD is committed to mainstreaming gender and diversity internally, while also striving towards gender equality, inclusion, and the empowerment of women and girls at the global level. In relation to this, the GICHD contracted the GCSP to deliver a training course, entitled Leveraging Diversity, for senior management (including the director). Externally, the GICHD encouraged dialogue, cooperation, and advanced good practice in mine action, as well as broader agendas around gender and diversity.
